I used to struggle SO much with hearing my own intuition that I actually started to think I didn’t even have one. I never trusted myself and was filled with anxiety because I could never find an answer to anything. It wasn’t until a few months ago that I realized my intuition was SO loud, and if I wanted an answer to ANYTHING, no matter how big or small, I could find it within me if I really wanted to. It took me a while to get to this point, and I wanted to share with you all my top tips for getting there so you can get there even sooner. <3
My first tip for connecting with your intuition is to let go of all of the outside noise. Stop asking for advice from others, stop looking for answers on Google, stop relating your situation or your life to what you see on the TV or hear on the news, and take a little social media break. Commit to even just a WEEK of letting go of all of these addictions we all have, and see how much clearer you’ll be able to hear your own thoughts.
The second tip, and one of the most important, is to trust yourself and take ACTION. It’s scary for most of us to trust ourselves enough to actually take action, but once you start acting on your intuition it will get easier and easier for you to actually hear it. Start practicing with the small stuff; for example, ask your body what it wants to eat before every meal and give it what it’s asking for. You will see that your body will start to feel and look it’s best and you’ll be able to start trusting your intuition little by little. Maybe follow a different trail on your favorite hike and trust that you’ll know how to find your way back. Drive somewhere new and find your way back home without using your GPS. Even try guessing who’s calling you before you look at the name on your phone. Then, start practicing with the bigger, scarier stuff. Stop hanging around people when your intuition is telling you to stay away from their energy, quit the safe job you’re in to follow your dreams instead, and start setting healthy boundaries for yourself with everyone in your life. It might be terrifying at first, but once you follow your intuition it becomes easier and easier to do so and you’ll start hearing it louder and louder.
My third tip is to practice yoga & to take walks in nature. We store a ton of old energy in our body, and this is what causes us to be in so much anxiety and in a constant state of overthinking. Moving our body in a gentle manner such as yoga helps us move out this old energy and connect with ourselves in the present moment. When we do this, we’re able to clear out the constant chatter in our mind and hear our intuition. The same thing happens when we take walks in nature- it’s healing, soothing, and helps us reconnect with ourselves.
My next tip is to practice asking yourself yes/no questions and listening to the very first answer you get. For example, start with things you know the answer to. Ask yourself questions like “is my name ___?” “Am I wearing a pink shirt?” You’ll notice that the very very first answer that instantly pops up in your head is always the correct one. Then, start practicing with more complex questions or questions you think you don’t know the answer to. Over time, you’ll get clearer and clearer answers to pretty much any question.
My last, most important tip is to start connecting with God every morning and every night. Start your day in meditation so that you can hear what God is trying to tell you. If he tells you to follow a certain path, no matter how crazy it might seem, follow it. listen to him. trust him. and the more you trust in him and follow his word the easier it will be to hear what he has to say. We are all connected to him so when we hear him we can hear our intuition- it’s pretty much the same thing.
When you slowly let go of fear and take the steps to follow your intuition you will literally be able to close your eyes, ask a question, and get an instant answer. It’s really that simple, but it takes a lot of practice. There are no mistakes in this life, so even if you take the “wrong” path, it’s always leading you towards where you’re meant to be. So tell me, what are you waiting for?
xoxo
