How I care for my gut health – a Nutritionist’s top tips!

Hi loves! It’s been a while since I popped in on here to share some tips & tricks with you. I’ve been having more fun sharing on the podcast (you can listen to that here) butttt I also love connecting with you all in this way so I’m BACK!

I’ve been going through a lot of shifts & growth & transformation, and with that I’ve had to move through a lot of really painful, sad emotions. When my mood is all over the place and I’m trying to get myself out of a funk, It’s really important that I support my gut health. I’ve been slowing down and taking the time to put myself and my health first, and I wanted to share with you my top tips & tricks to caring for my gut.

  1. Taking vitamin D and spending lots of time outside in the sun- Vitamin D has been proven to increase the overall diversity of the gut microbiome and also has been shown to regulate mood/decrease symptoms of depression. Being outside in the sun is my favorite way to increase my levels of Vitamin D, but unfortunately, most of us have trouble absorbing enough vitamin D from the sun itself. This is why I also recommend supplementing with Vitamin D in addition to spending time in the sun
  2. Slowing down and reconnecting with my breathe and my body- Too much stress can wreak havoc on your gut health, which is why it’s so important to slow down and regulate your nervous system to protect your gut health.
  3. Eating probiotic rich foods- Some of my favorites are kombucha, yogurt, and anything pickled/fermented!
  4. Taking a high-quality probiotic supplement- I’m always on the lookout for high-quality probiotics and lately I’ve been loving Kyo-Dophilus Pro+ Synbiotic. They don’t have to be refrigerated, so it’s super easy to take with you anywhere you go, and they come in yummy chewable tablets that contain a specialty selected prebiotic and a community of nine probiotic strains. Synbiotic is a term used for probiotics & prebiotics which are combined to provide a synergistic beneficial effect in the microbiome. The three biocompatible human strains in all Kyo-Dophilus products, called The Friendly Trio, have been the subject of clinical studies that have documented the efficacy of these strains to support a healthy microbiome. They are tasty, easy to travel with, and actually work! <3

I hope this was helpful and that next time you’re wanting to show your gut some love, you can lean on these tools

Sending you all my love,

xx
