I love Spirulina, but it’s definitely hard to mask it’s intense flavor. I’m always experimenting with ways to add it into different foods because of its amazing health benefits, and this smoothie bowl is one of my favorite recipes with Spirulina! It’s not only bursting with that beautiful green color, but it’s bursting with nutrients and delicious flavors.
Some benefits of Spirulina are:
- an excellent source of plant based protein
- extremely high in antioxidants
- extremely rich in chlorophyll
- great source of plant-based iron (especially for vegetarians!)
- High in B1 Vitamins
- High in Calcium
- Good source of omega 3’s
- Helps with detoxification and removing heavy metals
