I grew up loving Rice Krispie treats, especially the chocolate peanut butter ones, but I never eat them now since they are filled with so much sugar and contain no nutritional value whatsoever! I decided to make a healthier version of them that I could still enjoy and share with my family and friends. This is an awesome snack for kiddies as well and it’s a great way to still let them enjoy their favorite treat without the artificial nasties!
Recipe
- 3 cups brown rice cereal (preferably unsweetened or lightly sweetened)
- 1-2 tbsp.’s cacao powder, depending on how rich you want it
- 3 tbsp.’s melted coconut oil
- 3 tbsp.’s all natural crunchy peanut butter
- 3 tbsp.’s agave
- dash of cinnamon
Directions
Mix all ingredients together in a bowl using your hands until all ingredients are perfectly distributed and mixture sticks together nicely. Lie out on a 6×8 inch pan and refrigerate for 1 hour. Remove pan from fridge, cut into little squares, and enjoy!
