We all need an afternoon pick me up every now and then, and I know most of us reach for a cup of coffee, sugar-laden granola bar or chocolate bar to do the job way too often! In order to avoid doing this, I always make sure to have some sort of homemade bliss ball or protein ball in my fridge to snack on instead, which provides me with much more energy and nutrients than an extra cup of coffee or sugary chocolate bar ever could!
These energy balls are one of my favorites, since they are packed with omega 3’s, protein, and just the right amount of sweetness while still being sugar free. They also taste delicious and take about ten minutes to prepare. So next time you are in need of some energy or just craving a sweet snack, make sure to have these on hand and reach for them instead!
Recipe
- 3/4 cup walnuts
- 2 tbsp’s hemp seeds
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp coconut oil
- 1 1/2 packet stevia (you can use 1-2 tbsp’s liquid stevia or maple syrup)
- 1 handful goji berries
Blend everything, except for the goji’s, together in a blender or food processor. Add in the goji’s, roll into little balls, and put in the fridge for thirty minutes. Take out and enjoy!
